It’s a good list and a sound approach to things. Personally, I take out those caveats and just run every day (no “recovery, injury, or illness“ exclusions), but I realize that isn’t for everyone. I mainly like the simplicity of not having a daily “run/don’t run” decision to make.
Oh that’s cool! How do you never get injured or sick? I’ve been lucky and only had three major injuries in 34 years, but those still knocked me out for a few weeks. One surgery (3 weeks down); one severely twisted ankle (5 weeks down); one IT band strain (9 weeks down). And sometimes I have been sick. I also gave birth twice and I think took 18 days off after c section and one week after VBAC, but that’s neither sickness nor injury, and might not be an experience you’ve been through.
Oh, I do get sick and injured, just not so much that I can't run through it (so far). The "so far" part is important, because I've only been running every day since ~late 2017, so it's not a huge window and I'm sure luck has played its part (also, no childbirth to deal with). But I've run with a 102F fever, I braced-up and ran a ten-miler within a week of snapping my ACL, etc., and I have yet to get to the end a run and be sorry I did it (not necessarily so before or during, but always at least after). I envy people who are strong-willed enough to stop and start, but I understand my own weakness well enough to know that if I were to start making exceptions, I'd make more exceptions, and for me it would be a slippery slope into complete disrepair.
