I wonder what the most irrational linking pain is? I mean, for example I know if I massage my glutes my knees hurt less. I used to be able to get a stabbing pain in my foot when I moved my elbow.

Whoa- That is incredible! I’m glad it sounds like you figured it out? The craziest link I’ve ever had was discovering that how tongue placement in the mouth has a huge bearing on hip alignment. Crazy.

100% agree! As a yoga teacher (and someone that had chronic pain for years) I know that pain in an area doesn't necessarily mean it's actually that part of the body! Thanks for this great article! (And yes, I managed to get out for a short 5km today! Felt so good after missing my usual Wednesday run!

So glad you use running to add to your yoga practice (or vice versa?!?) and so happy you got out there this week!

Fwiw, 5K sounds great to me- not short at all!

yes, i have a daily yoga practice which i find really helps support my running! and i guess 5km seems short to me at the moment because i'm training for my first 50km lol so anything under 8km I feel is short (right now anyway!)

Oh wow that’s awesome! Yoga probably helps a lot with that level of distance training <3

You've no idea how valuable this article is! Anyone whose into being active has undoubtedly had knee pain at some point... even in our 20s.😭

Too bad doctors don't more regularly recommend pilates, barre, yoga... gentle strength exercises. When it is recommended it's more of a reactive measure than preventative. Or maybe I'm just seeing the wrong doctors.😬

Anyway, well done! 👏🏽
