I was a runner & I've certainly done that. A lot of times Id be dry by the end of my run. Smelly but dry. There are much WORSE things to leak.

I always pulled off the road to pee

Or never did. Wouldn’t race if this was an issue. Yes as a guy at the first pen of the Boston marathon I’ve seen guys pee In a bottle. But never pissed myself in a race. Seems pointless

It’s great that you know your boundaries and context! “Needing to pee” is different from what I’m talking about here. This is a leakage, not a full-on pee. Nuances are tough, though, so I get it!

Well, again, not a “need” here. This isn’t “needing to pee”; this is involuntary, whether you’ve got a shot at placing or not.

The impulse to hold yourself back because you’re afraid of what might happen is useless; instead, greet the embarrassment by addressing an issue with proper treatment. Usually, of course, that treatment is both physical (as in my pelvic floor therapy) and mental (as in throwing off shame).

As I said before, so glad you understand your context and boundaries! And neither is the subject of this post. So, two options:

1. Re-read for comprehension and then let’s discuss further.

2. Spend some time with Stoic philosopher Chrysippus. Recommend his work “On Passions”. Good luck!

You are missing the “involuntary” part, and the whole point of her post.

Not sure if you read the post, but you’re starting to look like a clown for commenting this much and not getting it 🤡
